Tony Gonello 1943-2023
Longtime ECFSC Boardmember Anthony “Tony Guns” Gonello passed away October 1st 2023. Tony was a passionate outdoorsman and conservationist. He was a longtime member of many organizations including the National Wild Turkey Federation, Depew Rod & Gun, Elma Conservation Club, Erie County Trappers and West Falls Conservation Club. Tony joins his late wife Val – the namesake of the Federation’s award for Sportswomen of the Year. Tony loved the fact that Val loved to fish and shoot trap. He reveled in that she outshot many others, including him. Tony was recognized by the NYS Assembly for his many contributions. Rest in peace Tony. Say hi to Val for us.
Rememberance Service
A reflection of Tony’s contributions will be hosted by Elma Conservation Club on Monday October 16th from 1 to 4 PM.
