Successful Event at Hawkeye Bowmen
On Saturday, May 17, Hawkeye Bowmen Archery Club held the “Ribbons & Bows” charity event benefitting Pink Ribbon Good (PRG) Buffalo.
There were 31 plucky archery shooters who were undeterred by the rain that held off until noon. In addition, we had a lot of visitors who came out specifically for a chance at the 50/50 and basket raffles. There were over 90 amazing baskets, plus a special Josh Allen autographed Buffalo Bills helmet raffle! The kitchen was incredibly busy and ended up selling out of everything but four hotdogs. A first according to Hawkeye member Dave Moscato. Hawkeye is happy to report that it raised $4,452 for PRG Buffalo!

Carlisle Lipke, Regional Director for PRG Buffalo, attended Hawkeye’s June 25th General Meeting and was proudly presented with the check. She expressed her gratitude for Hawkeye’s efforts and said that this fundraiser will allow PRG Buffalo to continue to provide the free services that those in the community need to ease the burden of being treated for breast and gynecological cancers.
These services include transportation to and from medical and treatment appointments, three meals a day for the patient and their family, cleaning supplies and a lightweight vacuum, and peer support – all for FREE.
Carlisle asked the membership that if they know of anyone in Western New York in need of their services to direct them to Pink Ribbon Good Buffalo. She also stressed for those in the room to be vigilant about their medical screenings for early cancer detection.
