Because of the ever- increasing deer population, the NYS DEC has changed the DMP process. The four biggest changes are:
- Easier to get DMP
Increased to 4 DMP per hunter. Harvesting in unlimited WMU will get you a BONUS DMP. - Unlimited DMP transfers.
(NOTE: only paper DMPs can be transferred) - September season expanded to 10 additional WMUs.
Early season access increased. - Earn-a-2nd-buck system
Only one buck tag issued instead of 2. Must harvest a doe to receive 2nd buck tag.
