A first of its kind program for the northeast United States, it is sponsored by the New York State Trappers Association in cooperation with the New York State Department of Environmental Education.
A Learning Opportunity
This program is an enhanced version of the NYSDEC trapping course. With hands on mentoring supplied by seasoned trappers, this is a one-of-a-kind lifetime learning experience.
Conservation Education
Participants learned the benefits of trapping, the ethics and responsibilities of a trapper, choosing and preparing equipment, setting a trapline, and handling the catch.
