Here is the initial NYS list of proposed bills for the 2025-26 New York State legislative session. As you can see it contains some reintroduced failed bills from past sessions as well as a number of new bills. These are all garnered from Legiscan.com as the Conservation Council legislative page had no new information on it.
Due to the length on the NYS list, I did not go to any Federal list as of this time as with the number of Executive Orders being processed and the state of flux with the new administration it would be best to wait for next week and see what shakes out in my opinion.
This list gives you the info as to Bill number and legislative branch, the party that is supporting/introducing the proposed legislation (Spectrum), date it was introduced (Status), where the bill has been referred (Action and Pending), what the bill proposes (Summary), what has transpired since the introduction (History), and any companion bill from the other NYS legislative house.
If you go to the website and enter the appropriate bill number, you can also find what Assemblypersons or State Senators are co-sponsoring the bill in their respective houses. As of tonight (01/22/25), there are 110 pages of bills with approximately 30 bills per page. I will try to update this list more frequently but this is only 2 weeks into the new session.
I hope all enjoyed a Merry Christmas and are well on the way to a Safe, Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2025.
Stay safe,
Carl
